We are a married couple of British, Australian and Canadian nationalities. Our professional journeys have taken us to 13 countries across 5 Continents. Our specialty lies in challenging locations that require unique skills and resilience, especially out-of-the-main-stream destinations. Although we are resort hotel specialists, we have experience in managing most types of properties and different styles of operations.

We have been involved as some of the world’s ‘firsts’ in pioneering locations; we were part of the opening team in Shanghai for one of the first international hotels to open in China in the early 1990s when the country began to open its doors to international partnerships; we led the first hotel management team in Cambodia to pre-open a boutique hotel and set up a hotel training school; the first in southern Thailand to takeover and re-brand a regional hotel; the first to win 2 prestigious industry awards while being General Manager of a top-tier island resort in Australia; the first to relaunch a 5-star island resort in The Maldives and won Condé Nast Traveller’s nomination as one of the top 10 resorts in the world (within 8 months of re-opening); the first to lead and re-brand a hotel group in Malawi in southern Africa while being its Country General Manager overseeing 8 properties; the first to relaunch a barely completed golf resort in an isolated corner in Malaysia; and not least, we led the first international management team in pre-opening an Aga-Khan hotel and running a hotel school in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Add to that our experience in resort development as consultants, including 2 large residential resort villages with golf courses in Canada, and beach resorts with extensive real estate components in Costa Rica and Panama.

More recently, in Tasmania, we successfully repositioned and reopened a luxury wilderness resort amid the covid crisis, strategically balancing yield and costs, opening new business channels, harnessing digital media and enriching the guest experience at each touchpoint.

These experiences have taught us, like few others, how to develop, launch and operate properties that require exceptional skills and creative solutions.
